Biography:

Colin Aimers joined Wind Prospect in 2002 having worked with Directors Euan Cameron and Bruce Allan on a number of wind farm projects since 2000.


Colin is a Director of Wind Prospect Limited, the UK services subsidiary of Wind prospect.


Since 2002, Colin is responsible for the civil engineering technical affairs of Wind Prospect Group's UK portfolio of business. With a wide variety of technical and specialist staff, they conduct; civil, structural and environmental design, geotechnical investigations during preconstruction and construction phases of a project for a variety of clients. The team also provide support to a range of internal and external development clients, providing technical advice and engineering design for a variety of projects prior to planning consents being granted.

Biography:

Bruce Allan is a professional civil engineer with over 25 years of construction experience covering large multi disciplined civil engineering, building and nuclear projects.


Bruce joined Wind Prospect shortly after its conception having spent the previous year and a half working with founders Euan Cameron and Colin Palmer project managing the construction of the Siddick and Oldside wind farms in West Cumbria and the Crockahenny project in Co. Donegal in Ireland.


Bruce became directly involved in the operation management and construction of Wind Prospect projects in UK and Ireland. In 1999 he became Construction and Operations Director building teams in Cumbria and Ireland in order to service an ever increasing work load and client base.

Biography:

Richard Barker joined Wind Prospect in 2000 having previously worked with Geco-Prakla (part of the Schlumberger Group) as a geophysical data processor, both onshore and offshore on a number of the company's marine vessels. On deciding to become more environmentally focussed, Richard embarked on the Renewable Energy Systems MSc course at Loughborough University in 1998, graduating the following year.


Since joining Wind Prospect, Richard began working in the Fens, securing sites and following them through the planning permitting process. On securing planning permissions, he continued to work on the sites along with the construction team, through to financial close.


Based in Bristol, Richard currently oversee the UK's onshore wind energy portfolio on behalf of Wind Prospect Developments Ltd. (a joint venture between Wind Prospect Group and EdF Energies Nouvelles).

Biography:

Ken has recently joined Wind Prospect as Managing Director of the Irish business. A qualified electrical engineer, Ken has over 20 years of experience in the power generation business with the last 13 years spent in the wind industry. Ken will use this experience to guide the Irish business through a period of growth while maintaining the existing high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Biography:

Achim Hoehne is Director of Advisory & Energy Resource Services. With an electrical engineering background, he has been working in the wind sector for 20 years, and spent part of his career running PB Power’s wind team in Australia/New Zealand.


Achim then moved to Macquarie Capital in London where he was closely involved in developing projects in South Africa, then to ABO Wind to manage various European development businesses.


He has worked internationally for developers, consultants, investment banks and turbine manufacturers – including Pacific Hydro and Envision Energy.

Biography:

James is the outcome of a successful development programme, having originally joined Wind Prospect as a Project Engineer in 2004 and worked his way up through the ranks to Director of Civil Engineering. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer and named on the APS design risk management register. Prior to Wind Prospect he worked as a Bridge Engineer for a Local Highways Authority and a designer for a steel fabricator.

James is responsible for all civil engineering activities within Wind Prospect including civil, structural and geotechnical designs and investigations. Works are conducted for both internal and external clients from project conception and development stages through preconstruction and construction phases to operational activities.

Biography:

Duncan joined Wind Prospect in 2010 and heads up the its operations business in the UK and Ireland. After graduating with a mechanical engineering degree, Duncan joined BP International in London where he qualified as a chartered mechanical engineer and gained over eight years experience throughout the UK/Worldwide providing engineering & project management roles in major capital projects and delivering asset management services within the energy sector. Duncan then co-founded an engineering services business in Ireland providing project management, construction and maintenance services to the power, petrochemical & heavy industrial sectors with an annual turnover of €9million. Since 2009 Duncan has been engaged in the development, operation and life cycle asset management of wind projects. He also holds a degree in mathematics and a certified diploma in accounting & finance.

Biography:

Chris established and managed PowerGen Renewables (now E.ON UK Renewables) as General Manager from 1995 to 2003. Notably, he led E.On to develop and open up the UK’s offshore wind energy market.


When Chris joined Wind Prospect in 2003 he pioneered the commercial development of their specialist on-site electricity generation concept, Wind Direct, and secured funding from Hg Capital. Since then, Chris has supported Wind Prospect’s rapid expansion into new markets (China, Canada, France, New Zealand), new service areas (advisory services) and new technologies (Pelamis on the UK’s ‘WaveHub’).


Chris has over 30 years’ technical and commercial experience in the electricity supply industry.

Committees:

Chris was appointed for a three terms, serving 6 years on the UK Government’s Renewables Advisory Board (RAB) and chaired the Planning Working Group sub-committee. He is a member of Loughborough University’s Centre for Renewable Energy & Sustainable Technologies advisory committee and was the founding chair of the World Energy Council’s Renewables Committee (WREC).

Biography:

Adrian Oakey has been with Wind Prospect since 2005, providing technical, administrative and business support and has been part of the wind and renewables industry for the last 20 years including testing prototype wind turbines (Vortec), green field site development (Novera Energy) and commercial and technical support roles (GE Wind Energy). His primary role is overview of all technical aspects of business, including supporting delivery of jobs through his extensive knowledge of the wind industry, training and mentoring of staff as well as implementing technical process improvement.


During his time with Wind Prospect, Adrian has been undertaken work across Australia, Asia and UK/Ireland in the area of wind energy assessments, wind monitoring programs, technical due diligence (owners and lenders), contract due diligence (owners and lenders), contract negotiations including both commercial and technical aspects as well as providing technical advice and support across the development, preconstruction, engineering, construction and operations phases of the wind farm life cycle.


His latest work has included the energy assessments for the 113MW Boco Rock wind farm, preparing specifications and providing technical support for the negotiation of the EPC contracts.


In addition Adrian has supported the business functions of Wind Prospect, including development and management of integrated management systems (Wind Prospect is ISO9001 accredited), business systems, businesses development, finance and business planning.


Outside of Wind Prospect, Adrian’s passions have been the building of his straw bale house in the Aldinga Arts Eco Village (www.aaev.net), renovation of other housing projects and participating in community activities as a resident of the Aldinga Arts Eco Village.

Chris Porter joined the renewables industry in 2002 after 16 years in capital equipment manufacturing, developing business in the UK and internationally. In 2005, Chris became a Director of Wind Direct and takes a leading role in bridging the gap between industry and on site wind generation opportunities.

Biography:

Barthelemy Rouer became head of Wind Prospect France in June 2008 and is now in charge of consolidating the existing clients portfolio, growing the advisory and engineering businesses and establishing WP?s reputation in France.


Based in Paris, Wind Prospect France are primarily focusing on short-term due-diligence and valuation targets as well as more long-term construction and operation contracts.


Barthelemy is a Mechanical Engineer, with onshore and offshore wind development experience, with track records in France, UK, China, Spain, US, the Caribbean, Italy and Greece.


Barthelemy has worked for Vergnet, enXco, Shell WindEnergy and UPC Renewables before joining Wind Prospect.


Prior to Wind Prospect Barth has also done some freelance wind consultancy jobs.

Biography:

Paul Stangroom joined Wind Prospect in May 2008 to take responsibility for expanding the wind resource and energy yield assessment services in Europe. His earlier career included a PhD in wind flow modelling, followed by a number of years of consultancy experience across the energy sector.


After 4 years of growing the wind resource team in the UK into a sustainable and well renowned business covering wind projects across Europe and Africa, Paul moved to Australia to work as General Manager for the Asia-Pacific region.


Paul is now responsible for Wind Prospect’s business across the Asia-Pacific region, from development in Australia to consultancy across Australia and through Asia. He is in charge of the day-to-day operation of the business and its growth in new markets.

Biography:

Wind Prospects Managing Director, Michael Vawser, has extensive experience in the wind energy industry: beginning with a Masters in Electrical Engineering (researching the grid connection impacts of renewable energy) from 1993 to 1996; and then onto a career with Wind Prospect in the UK from 1997.


He carried out the role of Engineering Manager, which entailed not only the development of wind energy sites both onshore and offshore, but also a project management role in the construction and operation of several wind farms both in the UK and Ireland. While in the UK, Michael carried out considerable research into the wind energy potential in Australia, and after several productive trips back and forth to Australia, established Wind Prospect in Australia in 2000, for which he was appointed Managing Director.


Michael has overseen the achievement of over 850 MW of council approvals for wind farms in South Australia, of which 510 MW has been built or are under construction. Michael has also overseen the establishment of subsidiary wind energy companies / branch offices in Brisbane, Newcastle (Aus), Melbourne, Hong Kong, Beijing and Wanaka (NZ), as well as a sustainable property development company in Adelaide.


Michaels hobbies are sustainable living, playing the saxophone (more like dreaming of playing), keeping fit and surfing!
