Greenvale AP Submits Met Mast Application for Green Energy

16/02/2010

Greenvale AP have teamed up with on site wind energy specialists Wind Direct to investigate the possibility of producing clean, green renewable energy at their facility near Doddington, March.

The installation of a wind turbine at the Greenvale Doddington site, will enable Greenvale to reduce their carbon footprint, whilst protecting against volatile energy prices.

With a high energy usage and over 300 people employed at the site, the Greenvale project is ideally placed to benefit from on-site generation.

In order to establish the viability of the site, Wind Direct must first apply for planning permission to erect a temporary 60m met mast.

A spokesperson for Greenvale said: “Greenvale AP is dedicated to reducing our environmental impact, and we are excited about the potential opportunity to generate our own renewable energy which would go a long way towards making our Doddington site a sustainable Fenland business .”

Nicola Mortimer, of Wind Direct explains: “Wind speed and quality are of course vital to all wind development projects, so it is important that we are able to make accurate predictions, by carefully measuring the wind speed on the Greenvale site.”

“Once we have done this we will be in a much better position to determine whether Greenvale could generate clean, green energy for on-site use.”

An application for the mast has been made to Fenland District Council and can be viewed on the council’s website or by visiting their offices in person.
